Lady Day
Keep it ticking over Lady Day. Put on a brave face.
I hear you searching for that melody.
Voice straining. Nerves fraying.
You won't find it at the bottom of a bottle.
It sinks deeper every time.
Counting days down swallow by swallow
Drink it up and you'll feel fine.
Are you craving as we drown?
Enrich the gin with a little moonlight keepsake; our holiday.
There's people swaying to the rhythm of commerce
'Cos someone's gotta get paid.
This is the sweet sound of transaction.
Feet tapping. Hands clapping.
Dry, cracking, fallen angel's voice,
So close to checking out.
Not giving in. Not being a victim.
Chained to your bed now over and out.
Are you craving as we drown?
Enrich the gin with a little moonlight keepsake; our holiday.
With hits through holes like hungry mouths to feed;
She will rise.
Dark and seething post-punk from Cincinnati that's appealingly janky enough to make a tired genre feel fresh and urgent. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 31, 2023
Hey Frankie! Great work , once again. I feel very grateful to have had the chance to meet you a couple times... once at Pouzza in Montreal and once in Atwerp Belgium last summer. Your music is a reflection of how much a of great human being you are. My kids understood the real meaning of punk rock when they also had the chance to meet you last summer. Keep it going forever! Cheers!! Your Canadian friends, JF , Felix, Julien. Ps: I have more bottles of barleywine for you!
